A love for various
modern crafts

Esje de Wet was raised in a home filled with needlework, knitting, tapestry, crosstich and crocheting. The excitement of acquiring beautiful yarns and materials and creating wonderful garments and other products by her mother, aunt and grandmother continued in her own home when raising her daughter, Santie.

Santie du Plooy developed a love for various modern crafts mostly produced internationally. The joy of sourcing products internationally and the satisfaction of creating modern crafts such as punch needle and plastic canvas made her want to share it with local crafters.

When the opportunity arose, mother and daughter combined their passion into Estie Craft Shop to inspire young and old in enjoying traditional as well as modern crafts.

Bargello

The name originates from a series of chairs found in the Bargello palace in Florence, which have a “flame stitch” pattern. Bargello has come a long way from Italian palaces and retro 70’s cushions! Come and see a modern take on it!

We have a wide variety of macramé rope, kits and accessories for you to create beautiful plant hangers, wall hangings and even hand bags.

Weaving
